When the first silk wrap repair fails or the break is just too bad for a normal silk wrap repair to maintain, it’s time to bring out Level 2 Silk Wrap Repair. It is very time consuming because you cannot use fast drying clear coats to speed things up. Doing so will make the nail incredibly thick because as you’ll see there are many layers of different products in this range of repair for a natural nail. You really have to want (or need) to save a nail to go to this level.
This is in slide-show format with text and I will be back with regular type videos in the next week or two.
Products used, in no particular order: Sally Hansen Triple Strong (used in lieu of Perfect Formula Gel Coat due to huge difference in cost and the frequent need for this type of product when dealing with stubborn nail repairs), Seche Vite, Profiles Spa nail dryer (forced air. A hair dryer will help, too), Nubar nail polish in Absolute as seen at the end, Crystal nail file, ibd Brush-on Nail Glue, SUPERNAIL Professional Swiss Silk, Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler, Orange or Birchwood sticks, Loctite Super Glue, Beauty Secrets Acetone, Hands Down Ultra Nail & Cosmetic Pads, Block buffers of various grits.

A bit of a lie, two nails aren’t natural, had to be silk wrapped and glued. But I am getting muy bettero at doing it I think even though it looks like crap, trust me it looks better than my previous attempts! Lol
I got some bad info, was told “just apply the silk wrap and paint as normal!” but in fact I need some sort of glue to seal it. So I naturally hadn’t bought any so I just used plain super glue.
Did some googling on the glue that the silk wraps suggested and it had mixed reviews.. although alot of them were about how the glue was dried up already or whatever? SO i guess that’s a glue issue
ANYHOO, It’s just clicking! WOOT! Broke the right thumb nail trying to fix the ice machine
