I finally went out to Sally Beauty and got all the supplies to start doing my own acrylic nails at home! This is a haul of all the supplies you need to do your acrylics so if you would also like to start doing them yourself here is a list of the beginners supplies you will need (aka what I bought)
Supplies:
Nail tips clear or white
Acrylic powder clear, white, or pink
Bonding Acrylic liquid
Nail files or a nail drill (cheaper alternative is a Dremmel type tool from Walmart)
Nail tip trimmer
Acrylic Brushes (ranges from small to large whichever you prefer)
Acidless Primer
Nail glue to glue the nail tips down
Any top coat you prefer to make the acrylics shiny

♥ I use acrylic paints because its waaaaay easier to draw with than nail polish. Not to mention if you do nails as much as I do it’s a lot cheaper.
♥ I always use nail polish as the base color and then do the art with paints.
♥ My favorite brand of paint is Americana and you can see them at the end of my videos.
♥ Why haven’t you done my request? I have loads of requests and I bought a book just to keep them all in. If I went in order the requests are behind by a few months lol. I don’t go in order anymore but I always look at the book when making new designs.
♥ I record with my JVC Everio camcorder and use Sony Vegas Pro to edit.
♥ How do you place your camera to record? I use a tripod and place it in front of me of a table. There is a picture of it on my facebook.
Monday videos are now polymer clay videos.
Friday videos are my nail art videos.

Hey!! So I went to Calgary to visit my sister, and have been really busy! But the night before I left I decided to test out something new that I found at Walmart! It was a do it yourself Acrylic nail set! Around where I live acrylic nails cost about $30 and this package was only $13! They lasted all week and only came off because I decided I didn’t feel like wearing them anymore!
So these are the things I used…

How To: Apply Acrylic Nails At Home!

How to apply acrylic nails at home!! Takes about an hour, time and patience and about 100$ give or take to get all the products needed. Sounds like a lot but if your someone that usually gets your nails done often this should only be the cost of one months worth of nailcare! I got everything from Sallys Beauty Supply. Everything is mostly the same brand. I recommend all products but be aware the clear acrylic powder from ASP does tend to yellow. This process will NOT be worth it if you only get your nails done a handful of times a year and it will not be worth trying out if you get frustrated easily or dont have the time to do it. Im just being honest! I am in no way shape or form a professional this is my third time attempting this so if you have any feedback just let me know! I apologize for the long video, I wanted to make sure I included everything and was very descriptive because I found it very hard to get a detailed video that described products as well! I will eventually be doing a video on how to fill, remove and also a few nail art videos, stay tuned. Enjoy!
